DUE TO THE POULARITY OF THIS PROGRAM, KINDLY NOTE THAT OUR CURRENT COHORT IS FULL.
HOWEVER, YOU MAY REACH OUT TO US FOR POTENTIAL WAITLISTING.
We are excited to announce the fourth cohort of our fully funded “Drive Forward” Commercial Transport Licensing Program (STE)! Our ambition is to provide this practical, free training to support access to secure, well paying long term employment opportunities.
The highly successful program is on track to train up to 82 clients in class 1-4 commercial driving, Forklift operation, heavy equipment handling (overhead crane fundamentals, and excavation), and Dispatch Operations by March 2027.
GOAL
The curriculum is part of a multi-year broad scope licensing program intended for those facing multiple barriers to employment, most of whom are racialized community members. It is particularly beneficial to people with limited Canadian work experience..
Participants also receive job search skills training including resume preparation and interview skills as well as support to access work exposure, networking opportunities, and ultimately long term employment.
SPONSORSHIP
The program is fully sponsored by the Federal Government of Canada through the Canada-British Columbia Workforce Development Agreement.
TRAINING DELIVERY
Delivery is led by Umoja Operation in strategic partnership with Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) with the actual training designed and carried out by respected local training providers.
